August 2016 – Dominion Resources Commences Demolition

Eller Group is excited to announce that we are serving as Owner’s Representative for Dominion Resources for a new 20-story office building in downtown Richmond, VA.

Located at the former Richmond Plaza building, the office tower is expected to be completed in early 2019. Dominion is proud to emphasize that the tower’s peak will sit 509 feet above sea level, making it, elevation-wise, the tallest building in Richmond, overtaking the James Monroe building and the Federal Reserve building.

After years of planning, Dominion Resources’ general contractor, HouriganClayco Construction, commenced demolition in early August 2016 for the new building at 111 South 6th Street. Progress on the project continues as an official groundbreaking ceremony was hosted by Dominion on December 12, 2016 to officially celebrate the start of construction on the highly anticipated addition to the Richmond skyline.

Project Specifics:

1) Workplace: Tower 1 – 480,000 GSF

2) Amenities/BOH: Tower 1 – 147,000 GSF

3) Parking: Tower 1 – 330,000 GSF, 886 Parking Spaces

Total project duration – 34 months
